An immersive Natural Garden
for classes and group discussions
The brief was to create a usable space where children can participate in group discussions and enjoy poetry outside. Accordingly I designed this immersive natural garden, so that whole classes can come outside and enjoy conventional lessons outdoors..
Before work started...

The useable area was too small for more than a bench for the children to sit on.

The Solution...
I removed overgrown vegetation and opened up the space with new flowering perennials and shrubs for seasonal interest, so the garden will look good all year round.
As my clients discover, I am very particular about how I set out the plants and will continue to make last minute adjustments until I am satisfied I have achieved the perfect planting design.

To create more usable space, I relocated existing York stone flagstones from a purposeless path elsewhere to this area which was levelled to make room for more generous seating more suitable for group participation.
