An immersive Natural Garden
for classes and group discussions
The brief was to create a usable space where children can participate in group discussions and enjoy poetry outdoors. Accordingly I designed this immersive natural garden for whole classes to come outside and enjoy conventional lessons in the sunshine.
Before work started...
The useable area was too small to allow for more than single bench for the children to sit on.
The Solution...
I removed overgrown vegetation and opened up the space with new flowering perennials and shrubs for seasonal interest, so the garden will look good all year round.
To create more usable space, I relocated existing York stone flagstones from a purposeless path elsewhere to this area which was levelled to make room for more generous seating more suitable for group participation.

As my clients discover, I am very particular about how I set out the plants and will continue to make last minute adjustments until I am satisfied I have achieved the perfect planting design!
